Caterham's Shop Smart, provides rewards for local shoppers, with over 50 shops and businesses in the Town now participating in the scheme.
Over 2,000 people have now registered to be Shop Smart members. This web site provides information about these shops, offers and locations around the town in both Caterham Valley and Caterham on the Hill.
A shopper's leaflet was distributed in April & May, with details of all shops registered for 2011 by end of March.
The overall scheme now has over 30 outlets in the Valley and 20 on the Hill. The idea is supported by local businesses, Surrey, Tandridge and Hill and Valley Parish Councils. Offers range from discounts of up to 30%, to free items, promotions and special terms.

Take a completed form to any "Apply Here" location to get your card on the spot. All Apply Here points have the "Snap" off pair of cards, one credit card size and one for a key ring.
Caterham events
The third Caterham Festival. A Food Market and DeFest were held earlier this summer. Other town events are being discussed, with detail shortly.
A "Big Society" type project was approved by Tandridge District Council in favour of volunteer group The Soper Hall Community Centre Ltd, teamed with existing ABC - A Better Caterham group.

group is being formed including Caterham Hill, Caterham Valley, Chaldon
and Wyteleafe Parishes, plus ABC and others to create a Neighbourhood
Plan, under new powers that will be created by the Localism Bill. The
intention is to create a plan covering the area for housing, the economy
and the necessary facilities and services. More news in December 2011.
